Refer a student

Find out how to refer a child or young person to a MacKillop Education school.

When can a referral be made to MacKillop Education?

A referral can be submitted to MacKillop Education at any time; however, if a current place is not available in a suitable class group, you will be placed on a waiting list.

How to make a referral?

Step 1
: The Host School, department or agency initiates or supports the referral by completing the Referral Forms.

Step 2: MacKillop Education reviews the referral and makes contact, to organise an interview.

Step 3: The parent/guardian, student and host school and/or agency representative must attend the interview.

Step 4: At the interview, the focus is on understanding the student and their learning needs.

Step 5: Following the interview, MacKillop Education will contact the Host School and the family to discuss suitability for enrolment.

Step 6: If an enrolment offer is made and accepted, a further meeting will be scheduled to complete enrolment forms and discuss transition plan.

*A tour can be organised separate to the referral, if families or agencies would like to assess suitability prior to referring.
